*Report Tracker Issues*

Postby Myran » Sat May 07, 2011 12:29 pm

This thread is for the empornium.me tracker.

If possible use the report to staff function at the mainsite.
Here you can report login issues or tracker offline status.
Or anything else that doesnt fit the mainsite reportform.

:o :o :o

My first suggestion is to NEVER, EVER post your passkey.... :sigh:

Anyone having access to your passkey can use your account and totally screw you over... :sigh:

I have edited out your passkey in your post..... :)

As for the error....??? You will need to wait for one who is more knowledgeable than I to answer.... :dunno:

this is a known issue, in the meantime try using uTorrent or any other client from the approved client list (link anyone?)

From the FAQ:

http://anonym.to/?http://www.emporniumf ... =91&t=1091

Q. May I use any bittorrent client?

A. Yes. The tracker now updates the stats correctly for all bittorrent clients. However, we still recommend that you avoid the following clients:
Shareaza

Transmission

BitComet

Bitlord

Shareaza sucks ass!

These clients do not report correctly to the tracker when canceling/finishing a torrent session. If you use them then a few MB may not be counted towards the stats near the end, and torrents may still be listed in your profile for some time after you have closed the client.

Also, clients in alpha or beta version should be avoided.

Did not find an approved list.

Whatever: uTorrent :thumb:

There seems to be no tracker here...

We think that qualifies as an issue.

Best wishes,

Alfred... :hi:

Mr. J4n AND/OR Mr. USB:

Is my computer - Are we screwing up again??? We've been logging out every session...

Please PM us - let us know if we're causing an issue/problem...

We won't log in anymore... In a while (sometime this year - :dunno: I'll get a new computer($)).

We don't want to cause anymore problems. So please ban us now if that's what's happening - before it causes big problems again, or - just say so and I won't log on any more...

Please note we've been trying to avoid problems by logging out when we leave and we're trying to do the right thing as to not mess it up for others... :dunno:

Best wishes to all,

Alfred... :hi:

I think they're screwing with you, Alfred.
Just a guess, but it looks like they pointed you toward a test tracker site. It's possible that when the admins of this site had mod access to the emp.me tracker and forum, that they used the "Backup Database" feature on the "General Admin" page. I did just that to a forum I admin'ed every night for a couple months because one of the other admins would ruthlessly edit the tables whilst drunk...always fun to have to rebuilt the damn site on a Sunday morning. Then, the quarterly bandwidth bill came, and the SysOp wanted to know how the hell we were using an extra 3 - 5GB of data every month (this was in 2002, when website data charged like cell phone providers did in 1992).
With that back-up, though, all one would need is a free copy of phpBB software and a webhost, and they could have an exact copy of whatever forum they backed up. Saves a lot of time editing features and installing options.
But, I'm only assuming...and we all know what happens when I assume: I picture me in Sasha Grey's ass and get so distracted I forget what I was talking about.

:gun:
Not sure Mr. Rome... :dunno:

We screwed up lately and was causing problems because of our antiquated system and our own stupidity...

We'll know soon enough - but we'll logout best as we can...

Guess we need to know if when we logout - if we're really logged out... :dunno:

Hey Mr Alfred... :hi:

I cannot address this as J4n is in charge of the security and site issues... No one wants to ban you, or have you leave until you replace your computer.. :( :( :(

Maybe you will need to try a different browser as he suggested to see if that helps... :dunno:

It would be best to wait until J4n pops in and checks this out and maybe he can come up with a solution... :hmm:

If it is an issue with the chat, then maybe you will have to avoid the chat until it can be resolved... :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

But again, it is best left to him to figure out what is happening and a solution.... :)

I don't want to see you forced out and neither does anyone else... :thumb:

Thank you.

We're going to Logout now. We'll keep an eye out for messages. So please log us out if it doesn't work when we do...

:dunno:

Best wishes,

Alfred... :hooray: :thumb:

(could it be everytime I refresh - it logs me back in again? - don't know -- computer dumb)

Will work hard on logging out now...
